Monarch Design Systems Launches "Monarch School" - Initial Classes Focus on Use of Popular Graphics Software for Textile Design

Glendale, NY - In its on-going effort to promote the benefits of CAD technology for apparel and textile design, Monarch Design Systems announced the launch of "Monarch School."

"Many companies, particularly small design houses, are employing popular "off-the-shelf" graphics software, such as Adobe Photoshop© and Illustrator© for textile design," says Richard Lerner, Monarch's Evangelist for CAD."Our goal with Monarch School is to provide hands-on training by highly qualified instructors in how to maximize use of these programs for this purpose. We will also introduce designers to our new off-the-shelf products, including Plaids & Stripesª, a Photoshop plug-in."

The first two classes, "Introduction to Photoshop for Textile Design" and "Introduction to Illustrator for Textile Design" cover a broad spectrum of design functions, including: repeats; color reduction; flats; colorways; plaids; stripes; textures; using filters to create textile effects; color cards; color separations and trapping; painting with a texture; and tonals, gradations, and hombre effects.
