New Feature-Rich Version of Pointcarre is on the Way

Glendale, New York - Version 5.0 of the powerful Pointcarre(tm) textile software is set for release. In tandem with the new release, Monarch will hold free classes for customers on maintenance contracts. Additionally, Monarch will hold two special User Group Meetings to introduce the new features of Pointcarré 5.0. The first will be held at the CITDA show in High Point, NC on Nov. 11, and the second on December 3 in New York City. Invitations have been sent to all Monarch customers.

The new Pointcarre 5.0 design version sports a streamlined interface, and over seventy-five new features, including:

  • The new enhanced airbrush tool includes dynamic preview of control options, including maximum and minimum dot sizes, density, square or round shape and dot sizes, size of brush and ability to choose more than one color as in example. These options do not alias image, important for those end users who work with spot color.
  • Any color chip (hue) may be dragged to the Desktop, creating a paint tube icon of the color chip. The color chip icon can be dragged back into a palette or image to recolor either.
  • There is a new Repeat dialog. The image will change according to the repeat chosen, giving the user a preview of the image in repeat before they click OK. The dialog is moveable, so the user can choose which part of their image they would like to see.
  • There is a new "Regroup Colors" tool for color reducing scans and other images. A movable dialog with color numbers written on each hue allows for preview of different color samplings. Just click on the color grouping and the image colors are reduced.
  • There are two great new windows which display cross section views of the yarn interlacings of woven dobby fabrics. These graphic diagrams can even be edited!

Other new features include: colorways; lots of drag and drop capabilities - even dragging hues directly into patterns to update colors; free rotate; mirror and chevron repeats; consolidated and enhanced preferences; and the same Adobe Photoshop® keyboard short cuts for common tools.
